Luminous Giving cannot have a worthier partner than Brahmavihara. Brahmavihara Burma is currently in the development phase, and is part of Brahmavihara Cambodia, founded in 2000 by Beth Goldring. Beth is an ordained Buddhist nun whose organization has received international recognition for their extraordinary compassion and skill in working to help alleviate suffering and offer spiritual dignity to the destitute, the dying, and their families. The complexity of the needs they fill under extremely difficult circumstances is difficult to comprehend, and we are humbled and gratful to be able to contribute to such a profoundly noble effort. Wat Opot/Partners in Compassion was founded in 2001 by American Wayne Mathysse and Cambodian Sann Vandin in order to serve the humanitarian needs of children orphaned or otherwise abandoned by parents suffering the ravages of HIV/AIDS. Theirs is an extraordinary story in so many ways, right up until this year when some of the first children to arrive a decade ago are now attending University in Phnom Penh. Please see the link below to learn all about this amazing little NGO.
This little travel agency Yangon also helps support the happiest little old folks ever at Mingun, and we encourage all our guests to drop in and say hello. It really means a lot.
