Yangon Swan: Arts, Food & Culture
3 Nights/ Yangon
Design My Tour!
A ‘long weekend’ of sense pleasure in Asia’s most welcoming city. Perfect for regional expats or as an extension for travelers in the region. We are a Myanmar travel agency that gets it done seamlessly.

Art: The art scene in Yangon is infused with new vigor, and even art with a political bent is emerging. The old masters are here of course, the classic galleries and the modern and the underground scene struggling to be seen. You’ll see some very interesting work; and some very unique talent in the most interesting of places.

Food: An excellent half-day culinary course from a top chef is yours for the asking; otherwise the focus on food is eating it! From the best street food curries to unique local eateries serving melt-in-your mouth mutton to fine Burmese and international cuisine, you’ll get to taste it all.

Culture: That Yangon is a city in transition is an understatement. The recent democratic reforms have unleashed the natural verve of the Burmese, and the optimism on the street is palpable. To describe such a diverse and historic city in the throes of a renaissance in a few words would be a great disservice, so we won’t. For sample itinerary click the Game Plan tab above. Whirlwind : Bagan & The Road to Mandalay
3 Nights & 4 Days/ Surreal Bagan – Mandalay – Pyin Oo Lwin / Gardens & Waterfall
Design My Tour!
If you’re keen to see Myanmar but don’t have much time and enjoy a fast pace, then our ‘Whirlwind’ designs were built for you. This great mix of historical grandeur, colorful culture and cool Hill Station relaxation, begins by snatching you from International & dropping you next door at Domestic for a short flight to Bagan.

“Wow! Are we really here?” Yes, you really are. And when you find yourselves atop the 1,000 year old Shwesandaw Pagoda watching the sun set the horizon ablaze and the 4,000 ancient temples turn to silhouette, you’ll know you have seen something beyond the reach of a scribe’s superlative, let alone a Myanmar travel agency!

Although the high road to Mandalay may suffer a few minutes of turbulence, it’s far preferable to the hours of potholes on the Bob Hope/Bing Crosby Highway. You will get a ‘best of’ experience that will include Amarapura and the achingly picturesque scene of Buddhist monks and nuns crossing U Bein’s Bridge at sunset. Your reward for riding the whirlwind is a refreshing visit to the former British Hill Station of Pyin Oo Lwin, where it’s still possible to run across a rare Burmese with blue eyes.

Golden Rock & Roll
4 Days/ Golden Rock – Golden Bago – Golden Yangon
Design My Tour!
You may as well know now – “Shwe” means “golden” in Burmese. You will see it often, both in Burmese and English. The Golden Duck Hot Pot. Shwe Hair Salon. The Golden Gutter Travel Service. Shwe Plumbing & Sewage. You think we make this stuff up? What kind of Myanmar travel agency do you think we are?

Back to serious travel hyping. Haven’t been to the Golden Rock yet? Now’s your chance. In fact we’ll have an air conditioned vehicle pick you up at the airport and drive you straight there. It’s about 5 hours but only feels like 4 ½. Trust us, it’s a lot easier than the trudge up to the rock, which is only an hour but feels like a week in purgatory. “What kind sales hype is this?” you ask?” We have no idea.

And we best not tell you that the Burmese get a free ride to the top in a big ole truck! They say it’s for “insurance reasons” we foreigners can’t ride along, but I’m not buying it. What I do ‘buy’ is a ride in a bamboo palanquin! Sure, you feel a little imperialist, but you are helping support a poor village family, are you not? I’d love to make the climb, really, but my concern for my fellow man is just too great to be that selfish.

H2O to Go – Inlay Lake & Ngapali Beach
4 Nights & 5 Days/ Yangon – Inlay Lake – Ngapali Beach
Design My Tour!
A main course of deep water relaxation served with an assortment of intriguing cultural side dishes, the one-two combination of magical Inlay Lake and tropical Ngpali Beach is hard to resist.

Ngapali is easily the most developed of Myanmar’s thousands of beaches, which says more about those thousands of empty beaches than it does Ngapali. It’s got a wide white sand beach with requisite swaying coconut palms and crystalline waters. Part of its charm is that it’s still very much a working beach for small fisherman, coconut farmers, and of course, massage therapists. It is not uncommon to see a bullock cart tugging along the waterline, or for that matter a massage therapist getting a lift home in one. Accommodation ranges from upper budget to luxury beachfront bungalows that are both home grown and world class. Needless to say the seafood is outrageously good, as the top seafood chefs in Burma are all here!

Now that things have opened up, when will more beaches be developed? More islands? Answer: No one seems to know! The leadership seems keen not to make the same mistakes as neighboring Thailand did by allowing unfettered growth and the problems associated. They also want to look good in the eyes ASEAN and the world by naming vast areas in the Myaik Archipelago as a national marine sanctuary, not to be exploited.
